Sam Hill
President
Sam Hill is the founder and president of Sam Hill Tree Care. He established the company in 1998 after working with firms such as Lambert’s and Precision Landscaping. Sam has made it his mission to provide quality tree care to the Dallas area. He plays an active role in all facets of the company, primarily acting as chief consultant and diagnostician.
Sam has instilled a culture of continuous learning and safety within his organization. He has a passion for plant science and pathology that has spread throughout our team of arborists, plant health care technicians, and production crews. Mr. Hill invests heavily in training and safety programs to ensure that only the most qualified tree care professionals are serving our clients.
Mr. Hill earned his Masters of Science from the University of San Diego. He is a Board Certified Master Arborist® through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and is also a current member of the organization. Sam is Texas Oak Wilt Qualified and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified. He is one of only two delegates from Texas to receive the Florida Chapter ISA Prescription Pruning Qualification.
Sam is highly regarded by his peers and educators for his efforts to better the green industry. He serves as Chair of the ANSI A300 committee. The committee authors the A300 Tree Care Standards, a set of standard practices and specification writing guidelines that are followed by arborists, urban foresters, and many other green industry professionals throughout the nation. Sam also lends his expertise to the industry as a member of the TCIA Credentialing Council and ISA Appeals Committee.
Sam and his wife Johnna are the proud parents of two children: Ryan and Abby. When he is not working or studying plant science, Sam enjoys spending time with his family, honing his photography skills, hiking, and identifying plants and insects on iNaturalist.
