Sam Hill
President
Sam Hill is the founder and president of Sam Hill Tree Care. He established the company in 1998 after working with firms such as Lambert’s and Precision Landscaping. Sam has made it his mission to provide quality tree care to the Dallas area. He plays an active role in all facets of the company, primarily acting as chief consultant and diagnostician. Sam has instilled a culture of continuous learning and safety within his organization. He has a passion for plant science and pathology that has spread throughout our team of arborists, plant health care technicians, and production crews. Mr. Hill invests heavily in training and safety programs to ensure that only the most qualified tree care professionals are serving our clients. Mr. Hill earned his Masters of Science from the University of San Diego. He is a Board Certified Master Arborist® through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and is also a current member of the organization. Sam is Texas Oak Wilt Qualified and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified. He is one of only two delegates from Texas to receive the Florida Chapter ISA Prescription Pruning Qualification. Sam is highly regarded by his peers and educators for his efforts to better the green industry. He serves as Chair of the ANSI A300 committee. The committee authors the A300 Tree Care Standards, a set of standard practices and specification writing guidelines that are followed by arborists, urban foresters, and many other green industry professionals throughout the nation. Sam also lends his expertise to the industry as a member of the TCIA Credentialing Council and ISA Appeals Committee. Sam and his wife Johnna are the proud parents of two children: Ryan and Abby. When he is not working or studying plant science, Sam enjoys spending time with his family, honing his photography skills, hiking, and identifying plants and insects on iNaturalist.

Director of Operations & Safety · Senior Consulting Arborist
Andrew is the Director of Operations & Safety and a Senior Consulting Arborist. He oversees all aspects of operations, sales, people development, training and maintaining our robust safety program. He has been a member of the Sam Hill Tree Care team for 8 years. Andrew is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist®. In addition, Andrew is a TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional. Andrew currently serves the industry on the ANSI Z133 Committee as task group chair for General Safety. He is a licensed TDA Commercial Pesticide Applicator is both Texas Oak Wilt Qualified and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified. Andrew aspires to leave a legacy of servant leadership. He is a graduate of Aileron's Conscious Leadership and Professional Management programs. He is a frequent instructor for the regional ISA Certified Arborist Prep Course and a guest lecturer at Stephen F. Austin State University. Andrew also leads our Tree Preservation projects, working alongside premier design and build teams such as Sebastian Construction Group, Escobedo, DATUM, Reed Hilderbrand, MASA and more. When not at work, Andrew and his wife Sara spend time with their gaggle of children (Anna, Deborah, Robert and Levi). The Wimmels are active members of their church and home group. Andrew enjoys life in the outdoors, whether grilling with the family, hiking his favorite trails in the Ozark’s, four wheeling, or enjoying his favorite hobby of precision marksmanship.

Director of Administration
Tracie Barnes Bonilla is the Director of Administration for Sam Hill Tree Care. She joined the team in 2019. With more than 25 years of financial, accounting and administrative experience, Tracie is an incredible asset to the organization. With her guidance, the administrative team plays an essential role in delivering the unparalleled service that Sam Hill Tree Care is known for. Tracie earned her bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Memphis and serves as a Texas State Notary. She has continued her knowledge of Business through various training courses including Mulvaney Management Training, and Aileron's Professional Management System training as part of the company's initiative for continuous improvement and education. When not in the office, Tracie enjoys spending time with her family, visiting her daughter Alyssa at the University of Oklahoma and catching the occasional Sooners game. She also enjoys DIY projects and traveling. Her family attends Lake Pointe Church of Rockwall and she actively volunteers with their Rockwall Youth Community OutReach program and Trusted World Organization. Plant Health Care Manager · Sales Arborist
Megan is the Plant Health Care Manager and Sales Arborist for Sam Hill Tree Care. She began her career in 2018 as a Plant Health Care technician after graduating from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor of science in Agricultural Business. Since joining, she has become an invaluable member of our management team. Like the rest of the leadership team, Megan is committed to her professional development. She adopted the motto of “Committed to a life of excellence” while a sweetheart member of the Delta Tau Delta sorority at SHSU. She is an advocate for agriculture and serves her community by educating others about the agricultural and arboricultural industries. Megan is a licensed TDA Commercial Pesticide Applicator. She is also both Tree Risk Assessment Qualified and Texas Oak Wilt Qualified. Currently, Megan is pursuing her Certified Tree Safety Professional certification. When she is not working, Megan enjoys watching baseball ("Go Astros!") and getting outdoors. Her favorite tree is the bur oak. She especially loves spending time with her husband, Dylan, and her two young children, Jameson and Emersyn.

Tree Care Account Manager
Ryan is a Tree Care Account Manager for Sam Hill Tree Care. He joined the SHTC team in February 2024. With 8 years of landscaping experience, he assists with pruning and general landscaping needs. Ryan's first job was mowing lawns in his neighborhood, and he's had a passion for landscaping ever since. He eventually worked his way into a management position with a local nursery where he learned to identify and maintain plant material. After briefly pursuing careers in coaching and digital marketing, Ryan knew he wanted to get back on the landscaping path. He became an Account Manager for two nationally-known landscaping companies. During his time there, he managed landscapes for commercial sites and HOA developments. Ryan is an arborist in training and is on track to become a certified arborist in early 2025. When not assessing our clients' landscapes, Ryan can be found working in his own landscape, grilling, fishing, camping, or watching the local sports teams. He also enjoys doing projects around the house with his girlfriend, Melissa, playing soccer and with Monster Jam trucks with their son, Remy, and hanging out on the couch with their cat Reño.
