Oak Wilt Management
Oak wilt is a severe disease of oaks—especially live oaks and red oaks. If not managed, it will usually kill these species. Preventative applications are most effective and timing is critical.
Sam Hill Tree Care is regional expert in diagnosing and managing oak wilt. We have multiple Texas Oak Wilt Qualified arborists on staff. Sam Hill Tree Care only uses proven macro-infusion fungicide treatments, as recommended by Texas A&M and the Texas Forest Service.
Current best management practices dictate that oak trees should not be pruned between February 1st and June 30th. If pruning is required during that window, all wounds should be immediately sealed with pruning sealer.
